Who Do We Appreciate?
It’s come to my attention that it’s both Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurse Appreciation Week. (There’s another appreciation week, but I’ll let Seth Meyers explain at 1:05 in.)
Since all of the women in my family are teachers or nurses or teach nursing, it’s only fitting we honor them the Wittyburg way: with someecards!
I wouldn’t be a word nerd if not for the educators in my life making me feel intellectually inadequate.
As someone with too weak a stomach for “Grey’s Anatomy,” I salute you.
Wishing my many influential teacher and nurse friends — and millions more throughout the country — a wonderful week with well-behaved students and friendly patients.
I’d never last a day doing what you do, so may God have mercy on your soul.

When is someecards appreciation week? They’ve impacted my life, too…
What a great idea! We should plan it for August, so at least we’ll have something to look forward to during that dreadful month.
I appreciate all those nurses who helped my son when he was young and sick. I think they are more valuable than the doctors to be honest. I remember a lot of nurses in time, but doctors I barely remember them.
I agree — I remember the paramedics and nurses who helped during my father’s stroke much more than the doctors. I could never do what any of them do, but nurses often form the emotional bonds you crave in a time of need.
Yep, I’ve always had way more respect for the nurses because they do the real work. Just like the dental hygenists who clean and take X-rays and the Dentist just walks in takes a look at your teeth then tells you that you have cavities…or not.

¡Por supuesto, mamacita!
