WO: Weekly Obsessions

It’s the highest holy day known as Galentine’s Day and silly me neglected to prep this post ahead of the festivities. Between an 11-hour workday, making Valentine’s for co-workers, a girls’ night out at yoga and a recurring broken circuit, I do solemnly swear it wasn’t my intention to leave you hanging.

So here are a few Galentine’s gifs to get you in the spirit, even if the day is almost over (slash already over for East Coasters). Here’s hoping you’re celebrating all the fabulous gals in your life, near and far!

And speaking of national holidays, my college bestie reminded me of today’s other important holiday:

Happy anniversary, Ryan & Kelly!

WO: Weekly Obsessions

It’s my BIRTHWEEK! The threat of thunderstorms all weekend don’t have me worried. I’m American after all, and these colors don’t run. In case you couldn’t tell, my patriotism hits an all-time obnoxious high this time every year. Brace yourselves.

  1. Star-Spangled Hammered Tank Top: Look Human has a ridiculous array of funny, funky fashions — and this tee will let me show off the guns for the 4th.
  2. Crocheted Flag Vest with Fringe. Yeah.: Over that tank will be this little beauty. Please hold your applause. And don’t worry, Mom. I’ll be wearing jorts to cover my American pie.
  3. American Flag Flask: What better way to say ‘Merica than with this patriotic flask? It also promises to help you forget the World Cup loss our guys had last night. But damn, does it taste like freedom.
  4. Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks: In all seriousness, you guys should totally check out NBC’s broadcast (or see them live in NYC!) on Friday at 8 p.m. EST. We’ve got tons of performers … pay special attention to the audience during Miranda Lambert’s songs. Just sayin’.

WO: Weekly Obsessions

This is serious bizness, you guys. I’m so thrilled to celebrate the 150th post of Weekly Obsessions!

It’s the most committed relationship I’ve ever had, and it wouldn’t be in my life if it weren’t for you lovely readers.

Thanks for sticking with me through all the weird, wild and wonderful obsessions — you make me proud of this little ol’ blog each and every week.

Cheers to many more!

WO: Weekly Obsessions

Today is extra special, because it’s a milestone for Weekly Obsessions …

That’s right: This week is the 100th WO here on Wittyburg! I can’t believe this simple idea I had nearly two years ago turned into something that motivates (and frustrates) me so regularly.

Thank you for the support on a weekly basis — it means more to me than words can say. I’m excited and delighted to bring you another hundred more, and I hope you’ll stick around for the ride.

Cheers to being a total geek.

WO: Weekly Obsessions

First things first (as opposed to what? Such a dumb phrase): You can see I’ve changed my mind … again. While Esquire was quite lovely, the bottom navigation was pissing me off, and I’m too impatient to just deal with it. This new-new “Skeptical” theme should stick around a bit longer, I hope.

As promised, today marks a very special occasion for Weekly Obsessions: It’s been a year since the first WO! To commemorate this exciting (if only for me) day, I’ve found my four favorite WOs from the past year:

  1. Week 1: Where it all began … who knew I’d be so dedicated to something? Even I surprise myself sometimes.
  2. Week 15: The redesign of WO brought a fun and colorful update to an otherwise perfect planJ.
  3. Week 41: Going back through weeks of favorites, this one was my absolute best. Spot-on, I say.
  4. Week 47: Panama and Costa Rica was far and away the most exciting of my travels this past year — what I’d give to go back right now.

From pugs and posters to styles and songs, it’s been one incredible year. Thanks for sticking through all the random ridiculousness!
