WO: Weekly Obsessions
I say it every month, but seriously — how are we already halfway through October? Cooler weather is in full effect, causing all of NYC to layer up and party down.
Halloween is just 15 days away, which means the early-celebators of Christmas are already being assholes. Can’t time just slow down for a little?
No?
Fine.
- James Wolk: I first loved this guy from his short stint on “Happy Endings” and really enjoyed him rocking shorty shorts on “Mad Men” this season. Now the hottie with a body is on “The Crazy Ones,” and I will buy whatever he is selling. Hands down.
- “I Am Malala”: This memoir from women’s rights and education activist (not to mention, medical miracle) Malala Yousufzai just arrived in my mailbox. It’s no wonder she was the youngest Nobel Prize nominee — check out her interview with Jon Stewart and feel terrible about how little you accomplished by 16.
- Catch: I had the pleasure of meeting my second cousin last week, and she introduced me to this phenomenal seafood restaurant in the Meatpacking District. We shared scallops, shrimp and a few other appetizers … each one more delicious than the last.
- “Roar” – Katy Perry: This song made a stir a few months back, due to its uncanny resemblance to Sara Bareilles’s single, “Brave.” Whatever your take, I prefer Perry’s music for once in my life. Grrrrowl.

I am really liking that dude on the Crazy Ones. Does it remind you of your workplace?
It reminds me of my old job, for sure. I think any “creative” job falls within that same vein of lunatics and lazy arses.
If James Wolk worked at my office, though, I’d never want to leave 🙂
So you don’t do that kind of job now? There are definitely a lot of lazies at my office, but of course we don’t have any creative jobs here.
I’m not at any agency anymore … so while I’m in the Creative department, we’re basically looked at as the wacky people who don’t understand business.
I think we’ll find crazies and lazies everywhere … all part of the fun of being in an office, amirite?
The fun part is making fun of co-workers is not so much knowing them or talking to them, but more making fun of them in your blog.
It’s the only way I know 🙂
I am also obsessed with Roar! I put it on whenever I’m having trouble getting through a run….. which is the whole time.
Haha, I should try it for my next workout … which at this rate, will be March 2014.
I usually listen to hard rap and old rock ‘n roll to get me through gym sessions. Maybe I’ve been missing out!
